Here's strip 91 of Dude in Distress, and Femme hasn't forgotten what Clark told her back in strip 54.

Don't taunt Murphy, Femme. He has a nasty sense of humour

What's up with that probe?
Fafhred 30th Oct 2018, 5:35 AM
I suspect it was flagging him as target...

It seems someone is spying. A supervillain taking note that Clark is now an extra useful hostage with regards to Femme? Maybe too obvious. Her friends, so that they know what to tease her about? Nah, too unimportant to the plot, maybe if it turns out they were afraid something would happen to her. High tech paparazzi? Kinda interesting idea. Clark's friends? Now that just can't be explained too easily, let's go with that as a theory!

We all know the in-story explanation why Superman never married. (He didn't, did he? Or did he at some time?)

Observation: The probe/whatever-it-is exchanged left & right. I bet this will be of some importance.

(And... the spying device reminds vaguely of the old Dune movie with Kyle McLachlan. Paul Atreides lying on the bed, this thing, a hunter-seeker, appears and didn't notice him because he recognized it and knew to not move. When Shadout Mapes enters the room, it turns towards her and Paul grabs it and destroys it. You know. I hope.)

The left/right swap is just that our view is into the lens of the spying thingamajing, where we see the reflection of what it is looking at. Then our view zooms out to show the spying thingamajing in all its glory.

Like O8h7w said, the flip is just because it's the reflection in the lens.

Oh, OK. Didn't think of that even though I thought "mirrors flip left and right".

Strange how my brain (sometimes not) works...
