Here's strip 30 of Dude in Distress, and Clark seems to take compliments a bit too well.

Scarlet Sleuth is a very good superhero name. Both that and Admiral Awesome (I wonder if all superheroes in this world has alliteration in their names) seem faintly familiar, did we hear about them earlier?

Admiral Awesome was mentioned back on page 21 (http://dudeindistress.webcomic.ws/comics/30/), and, yes, all heroes have alliterative names. Check out the heroes teaser for a look at the heroes we'll eventually meet. (And we'll meet the good Admiral next episode.)

For the sake of spoilers, I'll let the story answer this. (You'll get some explanation in Episode 3, which will introduce you to the villain community.)

I looked up the teaser page (it was page 4), and the names were on it - mystery explained. SS, LL and FF are some of my all-time favourite superhero names. Not sure about GG, sort of depends on his character, might turn out I like that even better. Keep up the awesome work!

I'm not sure how much backstory will be told in the comic proper, but there's no harm in telling you that Grim Gumshoe is sort of a Nightwing/Red Hood character. He trained under Scarlet Sleuth, but Gumshoe's tendency to prefer using his fists and physical intimidation caused a rift between them. (Sleuth is more Sherlock Holmes and relies on his mental prowess to get what he wants out of his quarry, although he is an accomplished pugilist if matters turn physical, but he considers physical violence primitive and distasteful.)

And Clark is so very nearly "Clark Carwreck", yet he somehow manages not to be. He might be "Clark Can't". Any other ideas?

so goofy and adorable

Clark your Super Hero name is about to become Lead Head.

Good rhyme, and rather fitting. But we're looking for alliteration here. Clark Corkhead? Or does that only exist in Swedish?

i bet she is having second thoughts about saying yes.
