Time for a preview for Episode 2. Here's a look at art for the first panel of Episode 2, and a look at Femme Fantastic's ship.
I have background assets for the first 2 scenes done. I'm hoping to have the bulk of the remainder of assets needed for scene 1 done this coming week, and then it'll be time to start hammering out the actual strips. I'm still looking at a June launch.
BTW, looking at the ship I cannot help but remember Flight of the Navigator. Did you get the inspiration from there or it is just a coincidence? Does this ship do snarky remarks as well? :D
Yep. That was one of the inspirations (even though I haven't seen the movie in probably close to 30 years). At my Patreon, I released a number of concept sketches of the ship and its furniture. I also give a bit of description:
The ship is composed essentially of "living" metal. Its AI is bonded and completely loyal to Femme (and more than a little protective of her). All of its working components are actually a part of the ship's structure, so there are no display screens, buttons, or traditional controls, with its manual maneuvering, proximity alerts/scans/things normally shown on physical displays done by psychic link to Femme.
The metallic structure, while seemingly solid, actually morphs as needed, either by what the ship determines is necessary or by psychic link with Femme (although Femme generally prefers to talk out loud to the ship instead of just thinking about what she wants). So, while there is a "standard" interior to the ship (just so folks can easily orient themselves and find their way around the ship), it can also change as needed. Need a bigger conference area for a meeting? Not a problem--the ship will morph the conference room as needed. Need to go two floors up? No problem--the ship will boost you up two levels, no matter where you are--no elevator needed. Need a chair and table? The ship will produce them right out of the floor (and contour them to your body shape for maximum ergonomic comfort).
