Here's strip 37 of Dude in Distress, and Admiral Awesome shows a bit of what makes him awesome, although Femme seems to not see it.

Oookay, Admiral Awkward, you now hold the record for the most despicable first impression any fictional character has made on me. And I'm not the tiniest bit surprised. But note the qualifier "fictional": begrudgingly, this is a prime example of how real life pretty much always trumps fiction.

So does this bozo currently hold the record for number of sexual harassment complaints filed against a superhero? Every lady at that table has justification to clobber him.

It would not surprise me if there are multiple restraining orders that restrict how much hero work he can do among the civilian population.

Weirdly enough, LL and BB don't seem to mind, and even seem to enjoy, AA's... compliments?
Actually, I find FF's reaction the most normal of the three. Even restrained, I know of many women that would have punched him in the face already :D

My concept for the Admiral was Superman by way of Gaston (the animated version), with a dash of Ash Williams thrown in for good measure.

Some of the Admiral's early Earth history will be discussed later, but it's not much of a spoiler to tell you that, when he first arrived, he did make lots of headlines and insulted all sorts of interviewers with his aggressively flirtatious manner (to put it nicely). However, as his good deeds racked up and he became an increasingly vocal proponent for many women's rights issues, people found it easier to accept his explanation that such blunt sexual talk is complimentary in his warrior culture (to express sexual interest in someone is to say you find something--not just looks but intellect as well--attractive enough to want to share your genes with them). He does tone it down a bit in public now (but his speeches still have a number of cringe-inducing moments), but in informal, casual situations, he doesn't filter himself.

Femme has confirmed that Conq'orian culture is very blunt and straight-forward, and there are strict rules on reproduction (making "sharing ones genes with another" somewhat sacred), lending some credibility to the Admiral's explanations, but she still considers him a douche.

I thought Admiral Awesome and Femme Fantastic are brother and sister, but they're not....!

What kind of a relationship do they have?

Their history will be discussed in later episodes (can't say much here for sake of spoilers). As explained when they first arrived on Earth, the Admiral was Femme's royal body guard. But, since nothing on Earth can really hurt Femme, he went out on his own.

They should get together & buy a sow. Then put it in his bed.

Fortunately for the Admiral, I don't know if there's anything on Earth that could castrate him. Coincidentally, his manly bits will be the topic of the next strip.
