So they were both early, he by accident ("subverting" Doug's advice) and she freely admits having been there ten minutes early - well, OK, she was kinda eager to date him and she's not used to any social scheming (being a superhero, she has not use and need for such things anyway). So they are both mostly being themselves. Looks like good start to me...
(70 pages... to be honest, I expected more action but this appears to be better than I expected. (But I still like Fusion better.))
Dude in Distress will not be action-oriented. There will be some action, but the emphasis is on Clark and Femme's relationship and is mainly about two people falling in love--it just so happens that one of them is a superhero, which means a certain level of supervillainy will be one of the obstacles the couple will have to deal with.
Networks are usually synced to an atomic clock. Phones usually sync to the nearest tower, which should be synced to the network but have been known to be off by a minute or two.
I use ntp to check that ocasionally, really not kidding about the 1 second.
Besides I used to make telecom equipment and clock distribution is hugely important and should never be off by more then a few miliseconds, if your network is off by minutes then that's likely to be the whole network, not just the tower. So that is just lax of the telecom company.
Here in the EU i've really only been ocasionally suprised by times that are off more then 1 second, 2 secons being the max.
