Here's strip 61 of Dude in Distress, and some things just aren't as romantic as they are in the movies.
A few other things of note . . .
I updated strip 23 to change Femme's dialogue. She now says "flare glare" instead of the more generic "laser vision."
And contents for the print edition of Episode 1 have gone to the printer. I expect it to be ready to order at IndyPlanet.com by the end of the month. I will include an announcement as soon as it's ready to order.
Just did a search, I had definitely watched it back then, but mostly forgotten it since.
I did find an extract with that flying scene, and definitely could not remember it.
Wait, what ? So it's not Aladdin ? Y'know the part where Jasmine and Aladdin are flying all over the world on Carpet, singing arguably the best song in a Disney movie ever ( " A whole New World ") ? Crap !
Sorry. Gonna have to disagree with you. "Prince Ali" is the best song on the Aladdin soundtrack. (And, yes, I have several Disney soundtracks, with Aladdin being one of my faves.)
But I did skew purple with the night sky because I thought it gave things a bit of a fairy tale feel, so you picking up a Disney vibe makes sense.
You must not have had the pleasure of seeing the Aladdin parade at the then-MGM Studios back in 1993. They had a full chorus version of "Prince Ali" blaring on loop during the parade, and I don't think the song's ever gotten completely out of my head since then!
But "One Jump Ahead" and "Friend Like Me" are great tracks. (I'm not a fan of ballads, so "Whole New World" gets a lower ranking because of that bias.)
I'll have to find and scan some of my old Aladdin pics I did from around that time (ballpoint pen and pencil). Maybe post them to my DeviantArt account.
